Voodoosketch: Physical Interface Palettes and Sketched Controls alongside Augmented Work Surfaces
نویسندگان
چکیده
Voodoosketch is a system that extends a graphical table top interface with physical palettes on which users can dynamically deploy controls as shortcut to application functionality. The system provides physical ‘plug and play’ controls as well as support for sketching of controls, and allows controls to be associated with application functions via handwritten labels. The system uses a special digital pen, which writes ‘real’ ink on the palettes and while functioning as a digital input device on the graphical work surface.

Dynamic Tangible User Interface Palettes
Graphics editors often suffer from a large number of tool palettes that compete with valuable document space. To address this problem and to bring back physical affordances similar to a painter’s palette, we propose to augment a digital tabletop with spatially tracked handheld displays. These displays are dynamically updated depending on their spatial location. We introduce the concept of spati...
متن کاملDistributed and Adaptable Home Control Interface with VoodooIO
We propose to demonstrate a novel type of physical interface for home control based on the VoodooIO architecture. The system is targeted at home environments that are rich in networked appliances and devices that can be remotely operated. The aim is to allow users to define and maintain a single coherent interface, which provides effective control of the collective functionality of their home. ...

Work function and surface energy per unit area were calculated in the framework of density functional theory (DFT) with Linearized A ug mented Plane Wave Plus Local Orbital method in full potential for a clean symmetric slab of silicon containing two (top and bottom) surfaces. The surfaces were theoretically modeled using supercell technique by stacking a variety of silicon layers along (111)...
متن کاملAugmenting Interactive Tabletops with Translucent Tangible Controls
Multi-touch surfaces enable multi-hand and multi-person direct manipulation interfaces. However, they lack haptic feedback. Tangible interfaces (TUIs) are a promising approach to this issue but most are special-purpose with fixed physical and visual appearance. This chapter provides an overview of recent work to add haptic feedback to interactive surfaces, including haptic and tactile displays,...
